Lady Selene grew up running around market districts from all over the Empire. She has watched negotiations since before she could speak. She’s fluent in all 5 languages in the Empire and at an intermediate level with 2 languages from a neighboring empire. 

Despite being the youngest in her family, she was named the heir due to her excellent academic accomplishments, ability to adapt quickly, and exceptional negotiation skills. Despite her accomplishments becoming common knowledge after she won an archery competition against seasoned knights, some of High Society are still having a hard time welcoming her as their own. 

Soon after becoming the main contact for Prince Cassian’s material needs and wants, she became a frequent visitor to the Imperial Palace to attend international meetings that Prince Cassian was able to secure for her.

The Starcloud family is considered new to nobility because they were granted a title 2 generations ago. Lady Selene’s grandmother founded a Merchant’s Guild and expanded it to become the largest in the Marbletempest Kingdom. Since the guild brought great prosperity to the kingdom, the King granted her land and the title of Viscountess. 

When Selene’s mother inherited the guild, she expanded it to encompass the entire empire, and the guild is currently the largest in the Empire. Lady Selene hasn’t inherited the guild yet, but with the help of Prince Cassian, she is already making connections with neighboring Kingdoms and Empires to further grow the guild.

Lady Selene has been speaking with foreign nations to negotiate trade contracts, establish trade routes, and occasionally attending social events, because Mom said it’s important.
